Memphis Point Gymnastics Academy started in a small, rented 4,500 sq. ft. building in Cordova. As we gained more athletes, we realized the need for more space, additional equipment, and pits.  The search was on to relocate and build our own building staying in Cordova.  In 2006 Memphis Point Gymnastics moved into our new 11,000 sq.ft. gym. 

     STARTING THE NEW BUILDING...  

Groundwork began on February 14, 2006.  We are looking forward to giving our gymnasts and cheerleaders a much better place to train hard.  We will keep updating photos and keep you informed of the progress.  Bear with us as we expand and improve, for the futures of our young and upcoming gymnasts.  February 20th, the boards were put in place for the concrete slab to be poured.  They also had the locations marked for the pits to be dug.  We are really beginning to get excited to see the gymnasts, cheerleaders, and parent’s faces when we get into our new gym. 

 

February 27th,  the pits are dug and the concrete has been poured in the floor of the pits. The concrete slab will be poured and the workers will be walking on it by the end of this week.  Yea!!

March 2nd, the slab has been poured and the building is scheduled to be delivered to the work site on March 9, 2006.  We have really been blessed with good weather this week and are praying everything continues to go smoothly.

March 12, 2006- Well.. it is finally coming together.  The outside of the building should be in place by the end of March. 

 March 20th - The Metal Frame work is Finished!

MARCH 27, 2006.  THREE OF THE FOUR WALLS ARE UP AND THEY SHOULD BE STARTING ON THE ROOF BY THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK.

    

APRIL 04, 2006, THE GYM IS COMING ALONG GREAT.  WE NOW HAVE A ROOF OVER OUR HEAD.  THERE IS STILL A LOT OF WORK TO DO, BUT WE ARE LOOKING GOOD AS FAR AS BEING ON SCHEDULE.

YEA!!! We are OPEN..... June 1, 2006.  Right on Schedule.
